The Society brings together representatives from all along the valley who meet every few months to discuss proposals for buildings, roads and issues concerning pollution and noise as well as new village initiatives. Our aim is not to preserve in the narrow sense of the word, for life must move on, but to safeguard the beauty and largely unspoilt quality of this area of Southern England. Where necessary we make representations to Salisbury District Council, Wiltshire County Council, Members of Parliament and Planning Inquiries.

In addition to our quarterly meetings we have an Annual Meeting at which all Society Members are welcome. We review the work of the year, and it is an opportunity for Society Members to chat and have some refreshments in the house or garden of a village representative. The Annual Subscription is a minimum of £5.00 (higher donations are always welcome). Annual subscriptions help to support our work. If you are interested in joining please contact:
